Grounds

This is Angel and Shadow in our pasture closest to the barn. You can see our small pasture, one of our lakes, and the road to our home and barn in the background.

We're not set up for stalling mares right now, but we're fencing more pastures. Also I have contracted for a covered building---it will be 72' X 105',will have a lot of windows for light and can be opened in the summer months---will have sky-lights. We can then put in portable stalls for outside mares if customers want their mares in stall. We're working hard to get things ready----maybe next year before it all comes together.

This is one of my flower gardens, I have two of them--one on each side of the main barn (horse barn). The gardens are not finished, but I do have lavender, crepe myrtles and some shrubs. I will add flowers and other things later on.

This was one of our small pastures, but now it's Patches' new pasture (we also added more pasture for him). I wanted him to have room to exercise and just "CHILL OUT"! You know how hard a stallion has to work.

This is our large pasture that's closest to the barn. It's about 10 to 15 acres, with a lot of trees for shade! All of our pastures have water troughs.

This is my water garden area. I love waterfalls, so for my 3rd wedding anniversary, Mark gave me a water garden---I designed it (with the help of Joseph and Frank). I think the water garden is very beautiful.  People think its always been here and the house was built around it (not so).

It has two large ponds (with big Koi), a long stream that connects both ponds, three waterfalls (you can see the largest one in pic) and a gazebo. This is one of the most tranquil places on our farm! You can sit in the swing or lay in the hammock, close your eyes and you're not sure where you are---you hear the running water, the geese, ducks, swans, frogs--you think you're in heaven!  It's so very relaxing. If I'm having a bad day (can't go riding), this place is where I go to unwind! (My first choice of things to do is to ride horses--that always helps me to relax, but going to the water gardens is my second choice!)

My birthday gift has arrived! This is what Mark got me--he did this all by himself!!!!  He did really good!!

This is it coming off the truck--
it's still in it's corral!

AJ rides her first!

We're getting another large pasture ready to put horses in (we need to fertilize and do some work on the other pastures). We'll need more pasture when we start weaning our foals, which will be sooner than we expect! Our pastures that we have now: One large pasture about 10 to 15 acres: small pasture is about 3 acres; Patches pasture is about 2 acres. The new pasture will have about 10 to 12 acres. I have more pastures planned for the future, also will have another horse barn with storage area. As our business grows, so will our needs and I'm already having plans for the future!
