Patches is
15.3 hands (still has some growing to do---he's only 4 yrs.
old). He weighs around 900 lbs. Very muscular---no fat----Ricky
Daily rode him a lot on trails, and up and down hills, so
Patches has been exposed to a lot of things. Ricky rode
Patches on a lot of trail rides---he doesn't like the showing
part!! Everyone that I talked to, who were on the rides
were surprised that Patches was a stallion---he was always so
well behaved. They went on 3-day and week long rides, in
Tennessee, MS, Georgia and almost everywhere in Alabama. Patches
has a gait that is very square and smooth. He has a natural way
of going. He just has keg shoes on and he's VERY nice to ride.
I
bought Patches on
10/15/03----brought him home on 10/29/03. I had
to get his paddock and stall ready for him. (Stud
proof - HA!!!!!) This Patches and me arriving at our
barn on the evening of 10/29/03. I'm showing Patches, his
new stall. I decorated his stall door with purple and silver
- two purple ponies.
Spencer (5 yrs. old) and his
sister Marlene (4 yrs. old) petting Patches
Patches, Nancy and Little Will.
His
disposition is just wonderful! He's listens to you----not
a crazy horse. He comes out of the stall like a gentleman---even
if we're breeding. I call him "MY SOUTHERN GENTLEMAN", because I
can handle him---if he's being groomed, bred or ridden, no
matter what is being done to him. I have a great gang ---but I
wanted a stallion that I could handle myself. He also passes
this trait on to his foals.
I
bought Patches because I wanted a very well rounded
stallion--good bloodlines, conformation, and temperament. I
wanted a stallion that I could handle in the breeding,
riding and show rings.

He
hasn't been shown yet. I am planning on showing him in Model
Bridle classes (for sure). After Patches and I get some more
hours of riding, I would like to show him in some Western
Amateur flat or lite shod classes.
